About Me
Have you ever had a dream you didn't take the steps to fulfill? Well my name is Cory Amante and I am just the right mix of crazy and adventurous to have a dream to hike 2,650 miles.
I grew up in sunny, beautiful, crowded, Southern California. Being in SoCal meant you had choices. While some of my friends took to the sunny beaches, the sandy desert, or the bright cities, I have always been drawn to the mountains. Something about pine trees, crystal blue lakes and the clean crisp air puts my mind at ease. One year while hiking in the Yosemite Valley I stumbled upon some individuals hiking what they referred to as the "PCT". I quickly looked to Google for an explanation, because thats what millennials do, and lone behold the dream had begun.

These past few years I have been putting one foot in front of the other to make this dream a reality. This meant researching the trail and its challenges, collecting backpacking gear, taking short hiking trips, and becoming physically and mentally as strong as possible. This meant breaking the news to my friends and family that I will be gone for 5-6 months. This meant taking a leave of absence from my job and moving back home with my parents to save the money nessesary. All important things that I knew would take me closer to making this a dream a reality.

I don't want to be able to say that I had a dream that I did not take steps to fulfill. I hope you enjoy following each step.
